Terms & Conditions

In order to maintain a safe environment for all clients (human and feline) as well as our staff, the following terms and conditions apply when engaging in any service(s) with Good Life Cat.

By proceeding with an appointment and/or consultation with us, it is deemed that you accept the terms and conditions on this page.

1. Disclosure of Personal and Pet Information

Up on booking an appointment with Good Life Cat, you will be required to provide information on yourself (e.g., name, contact number, residential address etc.) and your cat(s) (e.g., pet’s health and basic profile etc.). This information will be applied to all appointments at Good Life Cat. The owner and/or account holder should update Good Life Cat on any changes to the aforementioned information.

2. Appointment Guidelines

Bookings for 3 or more cats will require a non-refundable deposit (50% of selected service for each cat).

Requests to reschedule, modify and/or cancel any service appointment must notified to Good Life Cat at least 1 day in advance, subject to availability of the shop. Last-minute cancellations will be subject to a non-refundable deposit of $20 (per cat) upon the next appointment. Repeated cancellations will require a non-refundable upfront payment of 50% of selected service for each cat.

Duration of the grooming appointment will vary based on the ease of handling and grooming of the cat. The time required for the provision of grooming services to the cat is variable, and Good Life Cat will not be responsible for any inconvenience or delays caused under any circumstances.

Good Life Cat reserves the right to forfeit an appointment without prior notice if the owner does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment. Owners will be provided at least 15 minutes advance notice to pick up the cat. Cats are required to be picked up within 45 minutes from the completion of the grooming appointment, failing which a late pick-up fee will apply at $15 per hour (or part thereof). Cats not picked up by the end of the shop’s pick-up hours will be charged a late fee of $30 per hour (or part thereof), and/or may be placed at a third-party cat boarding facility and charged at their prevailing rates.

The owner agrees to personally drop off and collect his/her cat at checkout, or authorise a third-party in writing to do so. Good Life Cat may require the verification of the owner’s or representative’s identification prior to acceptance or release of the cat. The owner shall declare any injury or illness suspected to be caused to the Pet at the point of checkout and agrees to release Good Life Cat of responsibility of the cat after the cat has been collected and removed from the premise.

3. Provision of Grooming and Transport Service

To proceed with a grooming appointment with Good Life Cat, it is recommended that the cat:

  • Is free from underlying medical/other conditions, physical injury or handicap;

  • Is free from fungal, parasite and/or other contagious infections (e.g., ringworm, fleas, mites, ticks etc.);

  • Is fully-vaccinated with FVRCP within the past 1 year (titer test can also be accepted); and

  • Does not exhibit aggressive behaviour towards humans and/or animals.

You will disclose to Good Life Cat on any criteria that the cat does not fulfil prior to arriving for the appointment. Good Life Cat reserves the right to exercise discretion on proceeding with the appointment based on the above-mentioned criteria, which will be discussed with the owner accordingly. In such a scenario, upon proceeding with the service, Good Life Cat will be waived from claims, actions, damages or liability for injury, death, sickness and/or illness suffered by the cat.

Good Life Cat may provide – upon the owner’s request – transportation of the cat to and from the shop. Transport service will only be provided if the following requirements are met, whereby the cat is placed in a pet crate that:

  • Is constructed of metal, rigid plastic, or weld metal mesh with doors that are nose and paw-proof so as not to cause injury to the cat;

  • Is large enough for the cat to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably;

  • Is non-collapsible and does not have wheels;

  • Is leakproof and lined sufficiently with a liquid absorbent liner;

  • Has a ventilated roof and door, so long the strength of the roof and doors is not compromised;

  • Provides a form of identification of the cat (e.g., cat’s name and owner’s contact information);

  • Does not constrain the cat or contain any items that could pose risk to the cat by causing injury or death.

It is the owner’s sole responsibility to ensure that necessary steps are taken to ensure that the cat is compliant with the Grooming and Transport Service Requirements prior to the provision of any of these services by Good Life Cat. We reserve the right to turn down provision of services to clients whose cats are non-compliant with the above-mentioned criteria including, but not limited to, other such scenarios as follows:

  • Overly-aggressive cats

  • Severely-infested and/or cats with the potential to infect other cats

  • Cats deemed to be difficult or impossible to handle for safe provision of services

  • Verbally or physically abusive clients

  • Clients who refuse to pay for services

4. Cats Requiring Additional Attention

In order prevent chances of accidents or injury to the cat, Good Life Cat will groom cats for cleanliness and comfort and to not cause them additional discomfort or stress. Such circumstances will apply to cats such as:

  • Senior cats (defined as over the age of 10 years old);

  • Cats with underlying health conditions or existing injuries; and/or

  • Cats with matted/pelted coats.

In such instances (especially for cats with matted/pelted coats), the cat will require extra attention and time to service, and/or may require several grooming sessions to complete the service. In extreme cases of matted/pelted coats, the cat may have to be shaved, which may increase the risk of the cat suffering an accident due to the unforeseen presence of warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the matted fur. Heavily matted/pelted cats may also have mold, fungus or bacteria that may cause skin irritations that would have been established prior to the grooming session, that may not have been possible to discover upon initial assessment of the cat. Post dematting, shaved cats may be prone to sunburn and exhibit brief behavioural changes that Good Life Cat shall not be liable for.

If at any time the cat is found to be ridden with parasites, illness injury or disease, Good Life Cat reserves the right to engage a third-party licensed veterinarian to provide reasonable treatment to the ca on the owner’s behalft. This will be at the owner’s expense, on top of the appointment service charges to  be paid at Good Life Cat.

A service fee of $60 is chargeable per cat per trip outside of Good Life Cat’s facilities and all costs incurred by the cat, including but not limited to transportation costs and veterinary bills, must be paid in full upon release of the cat to the owner.

In the unfortunate event where the cat passes away while in Good Life Cat’s care, the Pet shall be held until the owner is able to pick up the cat. Alternatively, the owner may request that cremation services are engaged on behalf of the owner, at the owner’s expense.

5. Charges and Payments

All services shall be paid for in full at the prevailing charges, where:

  • Grooming charges must be paid for the end of each appointment;

  • Transport charges must be paid in full prior to the provision of the transport service, so as to serve as a security deposit in the event of no-shows or last-minute cancellations.

All services rendered, products purchased and expenses incurred on the cat’s behalf by Good Life Cat must be paid in full prior to the cat’s departure from our premises. The shop reserves the right to detain the cat until payment has been duly received. The shop also does not provide refunds on uncompleted services.

Based on an assessment of the cat, the owner may be required to pay for additional services to be provided, so that the cat may be groomed safely and effectively. Such charges include:

  • Aggressive pet charge, where the cat attempts to bite or exhibit other aggressive behavior towards any person or animal;

  • Parasite treatment charge, where the cat is found to have parasites (e.g., fleas, ticks, mites etc.) during pre-grooming consultation, or during the grooming session; and/or

  • Extra pet care charge, where an extended amount of time is required to groom the cat (e.g., severely matted or pelted coats that require extra attention).

In the event the owner chooses to opt out of these additional services, Good Life Cat reserves the right not to proceed with the appointment.

6. Indemnity and Liability

By proceeding with an appointment with Good Life Cat, you are aware and acknowledge that animals are unpredictable and that there is a possibility of death, injury, sickness or illness to the cat or to another animal or person. By using services rendered by Good Life Cat, you thereby agree that Good Life Cat shall not be liable for any unforeseeable circumstances that result in injury or consequence suffered by the cat during or after its visit to the shop. You also waive and release Good Life Cat and its agents from any and all claims, actions, damages or liability for accidents suffered by the cat while in the care of Good Life Cat.

Good Life Cat will exercise due diligence to keep the premise clean, sanitary and properly enclosed for the safety of each cat. However, in consideration that the premise cannot be guaranteed to be completely free of bacteria, virus, fungus and parasites that can go undetected in cats that do not show signs of infection or illness, the owner waives and releases Good Life Cat and its agents from any and all claims, actions, damages or liability for injury, death, sickness or illness suffered by the cat.

7. Documentation and Use of Media Content

Good Life Cat may document the grooming session’s services on the cat in the form of photographs, videos etc. At Good Life Cat’s discretion, the owner may receive these media during or after the completion of the appointment. The aforementioned media content may also be used by Good Life Cat for the creation of marketing material (e.g., digital and print advertising campaigns, social media graphics etc.). You agree to inform Good Life Cat in writing prior to the provision of Services if you do not wish for the documentation and/or publication of these media content featuring your cat.
